Story Boarding and Film

We watched a video by a man named Matthew Needleman called “Film School”. He pointed out that when shooting a film that you should always avoid putting your subject in the middle of the screen. Also he pointed out that you should always include your camera angles to the storyboard when you make it. You should make a picture of each scene and put a box around the area of the scene that you want to use and decide on the camera angle that you think would look the best for what is going on in the scene.

  2. Prius and Gas guzzler skit with money in the trunk.
  3. Have 2 people playing catch with an Earth beach ball and skip to future and have 2 people trying to play catch with that ball, but it is deflated.
  4. Rock Earth smashed by a hammer(C02)

“Hate machine” film response

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on April 5, 2009 by ericnhs11

Today we watched a movie that shows how the media can use what anyone even children say against them. By just editing short interviews with children and cutting them short and then putting them together the film made even small children seem like hateful adults. It makes me think that our film should be edited as little as possible to show people that it has not been tampered with. By doing what this film has done you can completely change what a person means when they say even the simplest of comments. I think that our class should try to make sure we ask specific questions and that we have everyone that we interview to answer each question by restating the question and answering in full sentences. I think that this should all be avoided at all costs to show what people really think. You can view this film at http://www.mediathatmattersfest.org/films/hate_machine/

TIG: Sustainable development

Posted in Uncategorized on March 4, 2009 by ericnhs11

As a child everyone is taught that if I wanted something to eat that I would only take what I could eat and no more and if I wanted more then I could have more after I ate what was on my plate. Sustainable development is the same basic idea but on a larger scale. I personally think it’s a very good idea. Saving more of our enviornment will keep our world clean and looking beautiful for a longer period of time. Seeing as how children are the pride and joy of most parents’ life. No body should ever want to use everything and take something from there child. I wouldn’t want to take something that should be for my daughter personally.

TIG

At www.TIG.org the idea of climate change is understood to be something that is rapidly going out of control and is in dier need of fixing. The only problem is that it’s not like there is a button that anyone can press that will just turn it on or off. What has to happen is that our younger generations have to take an interest in changing it for the long run. Older generations do understand what isgoing on but are unable to agree on an answer and what to do about it but if younger generations can pay attention to each other long enough and work together then they can come up with a solution that could fix this problem. But this world is not a world that was given to this new younger generation like a new toy that they broke and must now fix. But in the long run it is our responsibility to fix it nomatter ifit is our fault or not. We also have to look to the future. If we don’t try to start on this issue very soon, then all of the future generations of the world are doomed.Personally I don’t want my daughter to inherit my problems because I want her life and the life of her children and so on to be as easy as possible.

Five topic related questions

Posted in Uncategorized on March 4, 2009 by ericnhs11

1.  What is the difference between the scientific and religious thoughts on global warming?

2. Is either situation better or worse then the other?

3.Is there a way that they can be linked together?

4.Is there evidence to support either side?

5.How likely are we to do anything about either situation?

Science or Religion

Posted in Uncategorized on March 2, 2009 by ericnhs11

Is global warming scientific or religious? Threw-out history the end of the world has been predicted. Many ancient civilizations  have predicted that the end of the world comes on a very specific day. December 21st 2012. Although scientists are almost compleately possitive that it is all because we have neglected our planet. Nostradamus has predicted most of the world’s worst and best events to date. But one of his next predictions is that the world will end on December 21st 2012. Many of the things that Nostradamus has said will happen towards the end of the world have come true. Outrageous temperatures, disease, famine, and worst of all major wars. Is it just a coinsidence or will the world be over soon then we thought or do we still have time to change our ways and our fate?

The chosen topic

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on February 26, 2009 by ericnhs11

We voted on which topic we wanted to do today. Before we voted a fewpeople gave there opinion on all of the choices and tryed to persuade everyone to vote for there topic. Although everyone had a good point I still like the enviornmental subject. I see it as a superior topic because people will always drink nomatter what anyone says to them and it would be pointless to tell teens about drinking if it won’t make a difference. The topic of Arts in schools isn’t as good of a topic because not too many students really care about Arts in schools because they don’t take any Arts so they don’t care. Personally I don’t care about Art becaue I do like to draw if I have time and nothing to do but as for the other aspects of Art I’m really notvery interested. I’m personally glad about picking the enviornmental topic.
